Falling For A Sociopath Is Never Value Neutral

The bite of a Scorpion
is quick and deep.
Bloodstains rarely
come out.

Years, darkened.

It was random,
disarmingly so.
An invisible order of
red lines embedded
on an unseen map.

The sudden alignment of
his directional intent.

Descending south on
Avenue Rd, gazing through
a crimson May sunset, its
brilliance lost in self
referenced approximations,
out of which walked
my new, fresh obsession.

Like red lines embedded
on a map, two trajectories
converged, and I think I
remembered to breathe.

Unaware there would
never be a going back,
only a
bitter completion.
