When You Know

 

He waited three days after coffee hoping to be sufficiently on the longer side of appropriate. On the phone to him the all of it seemed itself an impossible reduction to mere words. More than refreshing they agreed. Went beyond sex they agreed again. After a lengthy pause they laughed without assurance, each taking the others lead.

It was not until after more agreements and more laughter that he hung up to begin what he’d later describe as an unscheduled journey to a place otherwise known as himself.
